During London's hottest summer ever, Meristem Design was invited to transform the exterior courtyard space of Bantof – a new restaurant located at the heart of Soho, that offers people not only delicious food but also an opportunity to explore art in all its forms.
To contribute to the creative ambience, a 3.5sqm living wall and bespoke planters were designed and installed offering Bantof customers an opportunity to be surrounded by beautiful plants in a unique and relaxed environment where they can enjoy their own little pocket of beautiful greenery.
Our choice of plants includes a range of evergreen grasses, small shrubs and a few floral details, such as Erigeron karvinskianus, Euonymus fortunei emerald gaiety, Lavandula angustifolia and Vinca minor atropurpurea. These plants are heat-tolerant and thrive well in part shade spaces.
The substrate used is free draining and made of 80% inert materials. And the drip irrigation lines are laid along each channel for efficient and controlled delivery of water for optimum plant growth.
After the Meristem Design installation, our team of horticulturalists will make regular maintenance visits to Bantof to make sure the space will continue to look unique with plants looking healthy and beautiful.
Created by Michelin chef Asimakis Chaniotis, Bantof’s menu features a series of signature dishes designed to be enjoyed via tasting plates supporting the restaurant’s relaxed and collaborative vision. As well as serving delicious food made from fresh, seasonal ingredients, guests can expect an ever-changing rotation of art exhibitions curated by the restaurant’s team themselves.
