Meristem Design partnered with the London Borough of Hillingdon to tackle the visual clutter posed by electrical cabinets in a local shopping precinct. The clever solution? Bespoke, powder-coated steel planters adorned with robust Hedera Helix Ivy forming aesthetic green screens. This initiative not only veiled the unsightly cabinets, but also enriched the locale with a dash of nature.
Nature's Classroom: How Biophilic Design Transformed Sherwood Park Primary
In the bustling heart of London, Sherwood Park Primary faced a unique challenge: limited outdoor space. Through innovative biophilic design, an overlooked plot was transformed into a dynamic outdoor classroom. A haven for students aged 5 to 19, this new space offers sensory gardens, a mud kitchen, and endless opportunities for hands-on learning.
Bath Sensory Garden: A splash of colour for Twerton!
Meristem Design have recently completed another project in the Bath area. This time, the installations were focused in Tweton, a smaller, residential area just outside of Bath City Centre. We also installed Planters with graphics on to support the parking of both regular and cargo bikes for visitors to the area. These planters were planted up by a local community group that engaged in the project from the beginning and will look after and maintain the plants and planters going forward.
Parklets to allow cafés, bars and restaurants to reopen
Anyone who is familiar with Meristem Design will already know that we are the UK’s leading supplier of On-Street Parklets, with 40 installed last year.
However, following the recent COVID crisis we have been asked to adapt our new range of Parklets to allow cafes, bars and restaurants to use road space for outdoor dining.

A Greener Easter for our School Break
No half term holidays for Meristem this February!
Meristem were at the forefront of the Mayor of London’s new drive to clean up our city’s air last week - installing green screens, as well as some other planting, in three schools around London during half term.
Wyvil Primary School in South Lambeth, Robin Hood Junior School in Sutton, and Christopher Hatton Primary School in Holborn are now the happy beneficiaries of our urban greening, providing a cleaner and healthier environment for their pupils to learn and play in.
