Livepool Parklets
9 Parklets installed in Liverpool to help the high street re-open safely
This Parklet design allows for restaurants to use their own tables and chairs with parasols to provide safe outdoor seating during the Covid-19 pandemic. They incorporate Perspex screens between tables to provide extra protection from airborne particles as well as providing privacy and wind protection.
The work forms part of the ‘Liverpool Without Walls’ project being carried out by the council and Liverpool BID company, who are working to give businesses in the city the best chance of being able to open and trade under the social distancing rules in place during the coronavirus crisis.
Installed on Bold Street they have proved to be very successful with local restaurants who maintain the planting and cleaning of the units.
The planters are made form heavy duty oak timber and have a selection of plants to help green up the high street.
Although these were installed to help mitigate the effects of Covid on indoor seating restrictions, the Parklets we installed prior to the pandemic showed an increase of around 30% to the adjacent businesses.
