Retreat Place Rain Garden

We have returned to Hackney for another rain garden, after the success of the rain garden on Cricketfield Road. This time around we were replanting an existing rain garden, which had been consumed by weeds. Although there was still greenery, we removed the weeds, identifying and saving any suitable plants that had survived. We then planted the rain garden with a more suitable mix of evergreens and perennials. A blend of different heights and colours, as well as species that flower at different times of the year. This would in turn provide maximum potential for wildlife, including pollinators, whilst functioning as an effective SuDS.
