Lambeth Community Parklets: Design, Build, and Enjoy!

We are delighted to announce that we have been selected to partner with Lambeth Council to design and deliver the Community Parklets in Lambeth. This is an amazing opportunity for the community to come together and create some truly special green spaces that everyone can enjoy.

Lambeth Council is looking to build 25 new community parklets in one of the largest programs of its kind. Residents are invited to submit their own designs, which could include planters, tables, seating, children's play activities, cycle storage and lots of colourful planting to create new green spaces.

On Wednesday 23rd of February 2022, Meristem Design was delighted to attend the launch event of the Drury Lane - St Clement Danes Church of England CE Primary School Parklet with the partners of the project, school children and teachers. Local Councillors Mark Shearer and Louise Hyams as well as representatives from Northbank BID, the Cross River Partnership and St Clement Danes Church also attended. Situated just a 6-minute walk from the iconic Covent Garden with its green wall[1] and other urban greening features, the Parklet on Drury Lane is the first school Parklet in London and the UK.

Meristem's Ealing On Street Parklets Go Live

Meristem designed, supplied and installed 3 Parklets across the borough of Ealing.

The 3 Parklets are modular and can easily be moved to different locations using a pallet truck. They have a number of wooden benches and 6 bike parking spaces and are designed to encourage cycling, improve air quality, increase biodiversity and make the street greener for residents, shoppers and businesses.

We are delighted our Parklets won a Healthy Streets Award last Friday for the Best Healthy Streets Improvement District Project. 

This was a joint application with Hammersmith BID for our Business Parklets on Hammersmith Grove, which are part of a wider initiative to deliver green spaces, cleaner air and promote cycling.
