Claudia the owner of Pipoca was born and raised in Sao Paulo, Brazil, growing up surrounded by nature. When Meristem consulted with Claudia on what she wanted the overall theme of restaurant to reflect, she said “a touch of the Amazon”.
When Meristem, consulted with Claudia on the overall theme of the restaurant, she knew she wanted it to reflect her roots and invoke a sense of connection with nature.
The first step in realising Claudia's vision was the installation of hanging baskets with a range of plants. These suspended green wonders instantly added life, vibrancy, and a touch of elegance to the restaurant. With carefully selected plants cascading from above, the space became an immersive oasis, allowing guests to feel enveloped in nature's embrace. The hanging baskets not only created a visually stunning atmosphere but also served as conversation starters among diners, sparking curiosity and interest.
To further amplify the biophilic design, a green living wall was incorporated into the restaurant's interior. This vertical garden, adorned with a variety of plant species, exuded a sense of tranquillity and freshness. The vibrant shades of green, complemented by bursts of red flowers, created a captivating focal point that drew the eye and uplifted the spirit. The living wall served as a breathing piece of art, enhancing the dining experience and providing a peaceful ambience that resonated with guests.
One of the standout features at Pipoca Restaurant is a planter housing a magnificent tree from North Brazil. With its sprawling branches and lush foliage, this native Brazilian tree serves as a stunning centrepiece within the space. Its presence brings a touch of grandeur and majesty, while also connecting guests with the unique flora of the Amazon rainforest. As diners enjoy their meals, they can admire the graceful movements of the tree's leaves, evoking a sense of harmony and grounding.
Now that we have introduced the key biophilic design elements at Pipoca Restaurant, let's explore the benefits this approach brings to businesses:
