Meristem's Living Wall at RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2023
The RHS Chelsea Flower Show is one of the most highly anticipated events in the gardening and horticultural calendar, this prestigious show captivates visitors with its stunning displays, innovative designs, and inspiring concepts.
We are thrilled to announce our participation in this year's RHS Chelsea Flower Show, where we are showcasing our remarkable living wall on the bandstand.
Our design highlights lush green foliage with a palette inspired by Chelsea colours. The living wall spans 24sqm and showcases over 1000 plants, including Nepeta 'Cat Pajamas', Salvia Nemerama Sensation Blue, Heuchera Word Caffee Americano, Campanula port Campala Iris and various other evergreen species.
At the heart of our projects lies a commitment to sustainability. Following the RHS Flower Show, we will relocate all the plants from our living wall to various school and local authority projects. This ensures that the same plants that brought joy to the show will continue to thrive, making a lasting impact on school children and the local community.
Join us at the Chelsea Flower Show from May 22nd to May 27th as we celebrate the harmony between nature and design. Immerse yourself in the breathtaking displays, discover innovative gardening techniques, and be inspired by the transformative power of plants. Experience the magic of the Chelsea Flower Show and witness the extraordinary beauty that nature offers.
The Role of Green Living Walls in Urban Environments
As cities continue to expand and urbanization takes hold, the need to create sustainable, livable spaces becomes increasingly important. In this pursuit, green living walls have emerged as a powerful tool for transforming urban environments. With their vertical gardens and vibrant plant life, green living walls bring a touch of nature to the concrete jungles, providing numerous benefits for both the inhabitants and the ecosystem.
One of the primary benefits of green living walls is their ability to enhance air quality. In urban areas, air pollution is a persistent issue, impacting the health and well-being of residents. However, green living walls act as natural air filters, absorbing pollutants and releasing oxygen into the surrounding environment. The plants on these walls capture harmful gases and particulate matter, helping to reduce air pollution and create cleaner, fresher air for the community.
