Redbridge Council has installed the first of a series of Community Parklets in the borough. What makes these Parklets special is that they are the first ones in the UK to have a water fountain and will be integrated with the councils on street electric car chargers.

In the UK the switch from combustion engine to electric vehicles has taken a huge leap and therefore the need to provide more on-street car charging points is desperately needed.

Charge points attract drivers from miles around, therefore the idea is that while the drivers wait for their cars to be charged they have the opportunity grab a coffee or a bite to eat from the local shops and relax in the Parklet surrounded by our lovely plants.

There are also cycle parking facilities in the Parklet and a water fountain for topping up your reusable water bottle helping to reduce single use plastic.
