A New Future For Cities After COVID-19
On the 24th of April Car Free Day London will be hosting a webinar with Mum for Lungs, Hackney Councillor Jon Burke and Meristem Design, to address the plans for Car Free Day 2020 and develop ideas for opening up new streets for walking and cycling across the capital.
Although COVID-19 is severally disrupting the lifestyles of those around the world, this could be the year cities are transformed into safer, healthier spaces, serving local businesses and residents. People within cities are seen cycling and walking more during this time, with likely trends of active transport continuing after lockdown measures are ceased.
In London, it could be likely that new space for walking and cycling will be created to enable safe social distancing and healthier lifestyles for all Londoners. New spaces for walking and cycling also mean the opportunity for Parklets, planters provide additional greenery to these spaces.
Tune into the webinar link below for more information on what you could do with your street, and learn about the way of the future with a discussion on how cities around the world are planning their post-Coronavirus recovery.
