Pipoca Restaurant Adds a Touch of Brazilian Rainforest
Pipoca is a vegan restaurant and a low waste store, suitable for vegans, flexitarians, meat-free Mondayer’s or just people who are hungry and want a delicious meal. The restaurant and store opened up in August 2018, providing the Brixton area with delicious vegan meals, as well as a store full of bulk buying zero waste products. The overarching vision of the business is to supply food and products in a sustainable way - reflecting a zero waste lifestyle.
Claudia the owner of Pipoca was born and raised in Sao Paulo, Brazil, growing up surrounded by nature. When Meristem consulted with Claudia on what she wanted the overall theme of restaurant to reflect, she said “a touch of the Amazon”. To cater to these needs, Meristem Design got to work, installing hanging baskets with a range of plants, a green living wall splashed with red flowers, and one planter with a beautiful tree from North Brazil. The plants brighten up the restaurant and supply a dynamic mix of plants across the room, from the ceiling to the floor. Next year in the Spring, Pipoca is looking to expand its greenery to the outdoor seated area.
Claudia said “I really love the plant installation by Meristem Design. I couldn’t be happier with the final result. The team were extremely professional and they really understood our needs. They transformed the ambience of the restaurant, making it much cosier and pleasant to the eyes. It is now as if we are inside a garden and the living wall on its own looks like a piece of art! Thanks Meristem for making our space so inviting and unique.”
